Corban's Belgium Racing Update: Learning, Growing, and Chasing the Podium

Things have been going really well here in Belgium.

The racing has been incredibly fast and technical, and the first few races have been a big adjustment compared to what I'm used to back home in New Zealand. Most races are held on short circuits packed with tight corners, which means positioning is absolutely everything. Being in the right place at the right time can make all the difference heading into a short, punchy climb, a crosswind section, or a narrow road where the race can split in an instant.

One area I've been really pleased with is how well I've adapted to that style of racing. I've been making good decisions in the bunch, holding strong positions, and that's translated into some consistent results.

So far, my best finishes have been 6th, 7th, and 15th. With race fields typically ranging from 100 to 130 riders, I'm happy with how consistently I've been performing, regularly finishing in the first quarter of the field. It's a great confidence boost and shows that all the hard work before coming to Europe is paying off.

I arrived in Belgium with a strong training base and good form, and I'm incredibly grateful to FourB for giving me the flexibility to fit quality training around work before I left. Being able to consistently put in the hours has made a noticeable difference once the racing started.

Right now, the focus is simple: race, recover, and repeat. I'm aiming to race two or three times each week, taking every opportunity to gain experience and make the most of the fitness I've built. Every race teaches me something new, and every kilometre is helping me become a better rider.

I'm excited to see what the next few months bring. The goal is to keep improving, keep learning, and hopefully step onto that podium very soon.

Thanks to everyone back home for the support. It's been awesome knowing you've all been following the journey.
